- ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆2 reviews: Before Christmas, the trip to Carsington Water. Scenic location, the meal was just satisfactory, but the highlight was the male voice choir. They performed two sessions and went down well with the mulled wine. Overall rating was good. Secondly, the New Year Surprise day trip: Nice journey (Driver Steve sure likes his roundabouts). Special mention of the delicious lunch - turkey or roast beef, or both for those undecided. Everyones favourite apple crumble followed, and tasty coffee to finish. All served in light spacious surroundings at the Forest Hills Country Hotel. The view would be good looking towards Runcorn, had the day not been slightly misty. Please use this venue again.
